We expect to be able to provide a limited number of participants with partial financial support to attend the workshop, if such support is needed.

If you would like to apply for support, please send your application containing the following information and documents by email to: Hanna Krauter.

  • Your contact details.
  • Your educational background.
  • The focus area of your research (or the title and stage of your Ph.D. project).
  • A short description of the methodology you plan to use (or already use) in your research project.
  • The contact details of your postdoctoral advisor or Ph.D. supervisor (incl. email address).
  • If you wish to apply for a reduced registration fee, please indicate the level of reduction and your reasons for a reduced fee.
  • Abstract describing the work to be presented in the poster session.

When applying for support, we also need two CONFIDENTIAL reference letters by your present supervisor (professor/host) and a second senior scientist. The reference letters should be sent by the referees, directly and confidentially to our secretary office. The letter should not exceed one page, and may be transmitted by electronic mail (ascii, msword, pdf). Please note that, we must have received all necessary material not later than August 31, 2014.

Junior U.S. based scientists: Some support is available through N.S.F. funded Travel Award Program at the Materials Computation Center, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. If you require financial support, please follow the instructions given at their website.
